SBSD believes that, with good health, anything is possible education, employment, and active community life. The majority of children with disabilities have the same healthcare needs as children without disabilities.

However, children with disabilities require special health care services as well as more of the usual health care services, in Tanzania more than half of children with disabilities do not attend school as a result of health or activity limitations.

SBSD focuses on improving the health of children with disabilities in schools by providing life-changing surgery and hope to those in need.
